My Experience With Peggy Adams
Peggy Adams is an organization that is near my home. They help cats and dogs. It has three things: TNVR, Rescue Readers and adoption. I like Peggy Adams because it helped me with getting two of my cats, Marceline and Tiny Tiger.
2021 was their BIGGEST adoption year in their history. 6,639 cats and dogs got adopted isn’t that crazy! 1,776 adopted from pet stores and that is how we got two of our cats. My parents surprised me because I didn’t know we were getting two cats. Guess what! There is an adoption page on their website. There are currently 150 dogs and cats but that could change.
TNVR stands for trap neuter vaccinate release. It’s a program for controlling cat populations, so earth does not reach max cat-pacity! Neuter means they can’t have babies anymore. Vaccinate means they have to get shots so they don’t spread diseases. “How does TNVR work?” you ask. Well, 1. You rent (or buy) a trap 2. Get those cats in there with food 3. Bring the cages to Peggy Adams 4. You have to wait for a day for the cats to recover 5. You get your cats back. This is free for feral cats. We did it for two of our cats who live outside.
Rescue Readers is a program of Peggy Adams and it is a program that has kids read to cats and dogs. The cats and dogs are in the Peggy Adams shelter waiting for a home. It’s a good opportunity for socializing cats and dogs. It’s also a great way to help kids practice reading. I did Rescue Readers and it was fun. First, Daddy and I went to orientation. Next week we went to go read to kitties. You can keep going every week.
I like how dedicated Peggy Adams is to helping the lives of cats and dogs. Cat and dog lovers please donate or adopt or volunteer at a place like Peggy Adams near you.
